2019 Burns Night Supper

Thank you to all who came to support the Burns Night Supper on 26th January. We had a wonderful evening of haggis fuelled fun that we hope would have Rabbie laughing (not turning!) in his grave. Some of the activities included…

The Welcome / Selkirk Grace read by Mike Connell

Piping in the Haggis Stephen Watson as Hamish the Haggis bearer with his piping entourage fabulously choreographed and performed by Debbie and Barbara

The Address to the Haggis all eight verses read by a medley of different people, with special mention to Mike Connell for his murderous performance with Hamish!

The Haggis Supper thanks to Jenny Pulsford and her catering team for an excellent haggis meal and the village hall social committee for delicious Cranachan and crumble puddings

The Goldhanger Proclaimers Mary, Su, Jill, Debbie, Lyn, Keith & Stuart singing a rendition of 500 Miles followed by The Bonnie Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond

A Toast to The Lassies and The Reply delivered by Steve Clarke and Margaret Salmon both highly entertaining toasts, superbly presented and very amusing

The evening was rounded up with whisky games, the raffle and a grand finale of Auld Lang Syne which the whole room took part in. The event raised over £500 of much needed funds for the Village Hall Improvement Project.
